Choplet Gallery and Ceramic studio is pleased to announce the opening of Williamsburg Ceramic Center. The 1800 square foot studio located on the ground floor of N9 street, 2 blocks away from Bedford avenue will provide ceramic artists with 24 hours access /7 days a week.
The ceramic studio is currently equipped with 7 electric wheels and one kick wheel, 3 large Hand Building tables, a slab roller, an extruder, a state of the art spray booth room, two 10 cubic feet, one oval 16 cubic feet, and 2.6 cubic feet electric kilns. There is a dedicated mold making and slip casting area and a prototyping plaster lathe wheel will be added soon.
There is access to an outdoor space members can relax in.
3 levels of subscription are available:
1-The Collective Studio Potter (CSP)
CSP members will enjoy 24 hour access and be able to use all the ceramic studio facilities. They get a full 1.5'x 3' shelving unit composed of 5 shelves to store their work. The monthly fee is $220.
2-The Individual Station Table (IST)
IST members will also have 24 hours access to the collective equipment as well as their own individual table and shelving area. IST membership is a perfect solution for clay artists and designers who work on the same project for several days and for whom putting their work away at the end of their workday is not convenient.
7 Individual station tables are available:
-Three (3) 36"widex30" deep tables with storage under the table and adjustable shelving above the table, up to 9' high. The monthly fee is $240.
-One (1) irregular shaped table in an individual quiet corner 53" wide x 33" deep with storage under and adjustable shelving above the table up to 9' high. The monthly fee is $300.
-One (1) L shaped table: 36" wide x 30" deep on one side and 44" wide X 16"deep on the other side with storage under the table and adjustable shelving above the table, up to 9' high. The monthly fee is $325.
-Two (2) 45" long x 30" deep tables with storage under and adjustable shelving above and along the sidewall of the table up to 9' high. The shelves form a L shape 3'9' long on each side. The monthly fee is $350.
3-The Private Studio Space (PSP)
Williamsburg Ceramic Center also offers two 8'x 10' private studio space with a window facing the garden for $600/month.
Additional shelving units located in the basement of the studio can be rented by CSP and IST members for $55/month.
