Raku Workshop Weekend Retreat in the Catskills
You can bring up to 8 bisque fired pieces. Each piece should not be larger than 10″ x 6″ x 6″. Please consider bringing fewer pieces if your pieces are larger. Over 20 glazes will be at your disposal to experiment with. Results will vary from turquoise to intense red/bronze to beautiful white crackle.
I just wanted to follow up now that I think we’ve scrubbed away the last bit of raku fire smell and say again how awesome the weekend was. Thank you to Damien for teaching us and orchestrating us through the raku ballet with such a patient and generous spirit. Thank you Jennifer for organizing us all and fearlessly pulling glowing pottery out of the kiln. Thank you Alison for hosting us all at the most beautiful whimsical nature retreat. Thank you non-potter partners for tearing piles of newspaper, carrying heavy things, and taking wonderful pictures. Thank you to all of my fellow participants for bringing delicious food, sharing your inspirational work, and contributing to such a fantastic weekend! It really was an amazing and unforgettable weekend. I hope I’ll be able to do it all again someday. With deep gratitude, Amanda B.
“Dear Nadeige and Damien, that was pretty spectacular, our raku weekend! and a miracle of organization, coordination, tong-wielding….” – Devin D.
