2-Day Workshop with Eric Landon of Tortus Copenhagen

Eric Landon of Tortus Copenhagen Workshop

Tuition: $575

Eric Landon will demonstrate 10 vessel types, giving a unique and comprehensive look to his personal approach and techniques at the wheel. The workshop will cover a series of vases, bottles and bowls, introducing you to tricks that will allow you to get more out of your wheel practice.

The 2-Day Workshops will take place at Choplet Ceramic Studio from 9am-4pm and will include a 40 minute break. It is a All level workshop opened to beginner, intermediate and advance students. Eric and his assistant will go around the class and assist each participant according to their level.

There are only very limited spaces available for each workshop. The fee is $575 and includes equipment, tools, and clay. Students (Choplet Members & Non-Members) who wish to keep and fire their work can access studio firing services at $0.04/cubic inch. Studio Access for glazing for Non-Members will be $15/hour during Open Studio Hours.

Peter Pincus 2-Day Mold Workshop at Choplet!

Peter Pincus Mold Making Workshop

Tuition: $285

This two-day demonstration based workshop will provide an in depth look into complex slip-casting mold systems and colored porcelain slip casting techniques. Peter Pincus will demonstrate casting plaster on and off of the potter’s wheel, hand-forming wet plaster, cutting and reassembling molds, approaches for simple and complex forms and systems for efficient casting through the production a plaster mold. In addition, Pincus will demonstrate layering colored porcelain slip onto the surfaces of plaster molds to produce porcelain veneered surfaces on pottery. The workshop will culminate with a brief slide lecture about Pincus’s work and professional career. The cost of the workshop is $285.

Peter Pincus Mold Making Workshop

The weather should be beautiful in New York at the end of May and Peter is excited to set up his workshop in our garden studio. In case of rain, we will hold the workshop indoors.

Registration/Cancellation Policy for Both Workshops: Payment online must be made in full. $120 non-refundable deposit is required to register over the phone or in person. Balance payment is due two weeks prior to the workshop date and is non-refundable after that.
